Biography
The future of legal practice lies increasingly at the intersection of law and technology. Ahmed’s experience places him at that intersection, particularly in matters involving financial crime, cybercrime, data protection and regulatory enforcement.
Before joining Essam El Din Legal Consultancy, Ahmed spent more than a decade with the Egyptian Public Prosecution, including as a Financial Chief Prosecutor within the Economic Affairs and Money Laundering Division of the Office of the Prosecutor General. He led complex investigations into financial and economic crimes, with experience in matters involving money laundering, cybercrime, competition, telecommunications, banking, intellectual property and data protection, while working closely with regulators, government authorities and multinational technology companies.
His work has also extended beyond enforcement to the development of laws, regulations and regulatory frameworks for emerging areas of technology and risk. He has contributed to legislative and regulatory developments and led the development of operational frameworks addressing technology-related risks, including Egypt’s crypto-asset seizure framework.
At Essam El Din Legal Consultancy, Ahmed brings this experience to the firm’s forward-looking approach, where an understanding of technology is increasingly essential to addressing complex legal, regulatory and litigation challenges.
